What is a target group rate and how do I request it?
Certain target groups can park at a cheaper rate in Bruges.
Parkers can use the work or student rate by requesting their subscription via the E-counter or in the physical parking shop in Bruges. This subscription is linked to a specific license plate that is automatically validated by 4411 when starting a parking session. The correct rate is automatically charged without the user having to perform any additional actions. Walking to the parking meter is also no longer necessary.
All persons who are entitled to this reduced rate and register for it are stored in a database. Drivers who already have the work or student rate, must first register again. This can be done in the Parking Shop or via the brand new E-counter.
Which target groups are available?
Anyone with a permanent workplace in the city center can apply for the work rate. After the number plate has been validated by the Parking Shop, the user can use this cheaper rate for a year to park above ground in the city centre. This then costs max 3 euros per day.
People who attend classes at one of the recognized adult education institutions in the inner city can apply for the student rate. They can park above ground in the city center every day of the week from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. for max 5 euros per day.
Both special rates are charged in full at the start of the session and are independent of the actual parking duration. All work and student sessions automatically end at 8:00 PM that same day.
Where can I park at a target group rate?
These rates are available for all parking zones in Bruges with the exception of the Kiss and Ride parking zones.
